Monica Mahay

Monica Mahay is a veteran privacy lawyer with 17 years’ experience in the field. She provides strategic and commercial advice on a range of matters relating to privacy compliance, security management, and data governance, on an international basis. Her expertise spans a wide range of technologies, including autonomous vehicle solutions, for which she is the lead privacy lawyer globally for Intel. Monica has also worked with clients on cookies, facial recognition, employee monitoring, AI development, profiling, and children’s online services during her career. She has been working a mixture of part-time, condensed hours, and remote-working for the last 10 years and believes working on a flexible basis doesn’t only make for happier, more productive employees; it is better for the whole organization, and life in general!

Cian Farrell
Head of Legal, Huawei Ireland

Cian Farrell joined Huawei Ireland in November 2017 as Legal Counsel for carrier, consumer, services and R&D matters and was promoted to Head of Legal in September 2019 extending his role to oversee the company’s legal, policy and regulatory affairs.

Prior to joining Huawei Ireland, Cian worked as a Senior Manager in the Verizon Ireland (Centre of Excellence) Procurement Team. Before moving to Verizon Ireland, he served as Senior Legal Counsel for First Data Ireland. Prior to that Cian was an Associate in the Taylor Wessing (London) Private Equity Department and moved back to Dublin, Ireland in 2010 to become a Senior Associate in Matheson’s Technology and Commercial Contracts Group . He received his undergraduate degree in law from University College Dublin and went on to obtain a Commercial Law Masters at the same college.”

Sally-Anne Hinfey

Sally Hinfey is Vice President and Global Head of Privacy in the legal and corporate affairs team of Momentive (makers of SurveyMonkey). Responsible for all matters group wide related to privacy,/data protection as well as advising on aspects of product/ consumer law, commercial contracts and related issues. Sally was SurveyMonkey’s first legal hire outside the US and was SurveyMonkey Europe UC Data Protection Officer from May 2018 – December 2019 providing important advice and guidance in the wake of the General Data Protection Regulation. She also sits on the Board of Trustees for the Academy of European Law in Trier and takes a great interest in public policy and regulatory developments at the European level.

Denis Kelleher

Denis is the author of several text books on data protection law including EU Data Protection Law (Bloomsbury Professional 2018) with Karen Murray and Privacy and Data Protection Law in Ireland (Bloomsbury Professional) 2015.  He delivers the Professional Certificate in Data Protection for the Institute of Banking (UCD).  Previously he was a Senior Legal Counsel in the Central Bank of Ireland, Advisory Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General and Legal Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the European Union.

Jean-Philippe Doho

Graduated in Business Law in France and Intellectual Property in the US, Jean Philippe had experience in TV and movie production before joining Ubisoft. As a Legal counsel he has been working on topics related to corporate communications activities and video game production. He is now part of the legal innovation team as a project manager, leading efforts on awareness, automation and content strategy.

Linda Thielova

Linda Thielová serves as Privacy Counsel at OneTrust, the largest and most widely used dedicated privacy management technology platform for compliance with global privacy laws. In her role, Linda provides guidance on GDPR, ePrivacy and global privacy-related obligations to support product innovation and assist with compliance efforts for a wide spectrum of organizations from both private and public sectors. Michelle Feely

Michelle joined Ribbon Communications in July of 2018, following the merger of the Sonus and Genband group of companies.  Michelle has over ten years’ experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, managing intellectual property portfolios and advising on company secretarial, corporate governance, regulatory and compliance matters. Michelle trained and qualified with A&L Goodbody, specializing in intellectual property and information technology. Most recently, prior to joining Ribbon, Michelle was the Head of Business & Legal Affairs for the Telegael Group of Companies where she worked for five years and advised the board of directors in respect of the buyout of RTE as a company shareholder and the acquisition by Toonz Media Group of a majority stake in the company. Michelle was nominated and appeared in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist for in-house counsel in Ireland in 2015 and later in an article on the World’s Leading General Counsel in a publication issued by Legal ERA magazine in November 2017, where she was recognized for her wide-ranging experience in IP, media and entertainment law.

Colm O’Connor

In addition, he completed a nine month secondment into the Lloyd’s of London market with Sompo Canopius and a three month secondment with Markel. Nicola Palmer

Acting as an in-house solicitor with the Bank for over 9 years, holding a variety of diverse roles – currently leads Efficiencies Team, which oversees Group’s Legal Panel and related external Legal Spend matters, including BusyLamp cost management system; previously was a Partner in a number of large/prominent Dublin Law Firms, specialising in commercial property; banking and structured/forward funding transactions. Initially qualified with an Arts degree from Trinity College, Dublin; then qualified as a solicitor with Law Society of Ireland; and most recently secured an MBA from Michael Smurfit Business School in Dublin.

Jane Challoner

Jane is a qualified Banking lawyer who joined CMS as a trainee in 2001. She practiced in Asset Finance before moving into operational and strategic roles. Before that she ran multi-disciplinary teams as Head of International Knowledge and People and Head of Learning and Development.
