Louise Wallace has been a partner in the Corporate Team since 1997 and is a member of CMS’ Executive Committee.
She covers all aspects of M&A, private equity, corporate finance, takeovers, joint ventures, corporate outsourcing, integrations and governance, and all forms of corporate restructurings.
Louise specialises in the hotels & leisure and the consumer and retail sectors. She is ranked in the top tier of Chambers 2016 for her work in the hotels & leisure sector and is recognised in Chambers for M&A (High End) GBP 250m+ deals.
Louise has acted on many of the leading M&A transactions in the Hotels & Leisure sector. She has advised owners and financiers on countless Management and Franchise Agreements with Hilton, IHG, Marriott, Accor as well as “White Label” Management Agreements with Redefine BDL, Chardon, Sangine, MacDonald Hotels to name but a few.
On the consumer and retail side, she has an in-depth knowledge of the sector and supports our clients with M&A, competition, media and advertising, food law, etc. Her detailed expertise as a corporate partner means Louise also regularly advises clients across a wide range of other sectors including real estate, manufacturing, support services, industrials and IT.

Stefan Brunnschweiler is the global head of the CMS Corporate/M&A Practice Area Group. In this position, he sets the strategy for the group and leads an international team of more than 350 partners and 1000 lawyers.
He was named one of the top 10 lawyers and among the 100 most influential businesspeople in Switzerland in the edition of “Who is Who” by Bilanz.
Stefan Brunnschweiler specialises in international and domestic M&A transactions, corporate restructurings, corporate law and general contract matters (e.g. joint ventures, partnerships and shareholders’ agreements).
He is experienced in a broad range of national and international transactions, both sell- and buy-side (including corporate auction processes) as well as the assistance of clients in their ongoing corporate and commercial activities. Stefan Brunnschweiler has engaged in competition law, including merger control filings for more than 10 years.
Jonathan Marsh

Jonathan Marsh has developed extensive experience over the past 29 years in international business transactions, with over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector, involving long term projects with long investment horizons. He has deep knowledge of geopolitical and legal risk assessments. Recognized within his profession, Mr. Marsh serves in leadership roles in French and European professional associations. Jonathan Marsh currently serves as Deputy General Counsel of the Marketing Services Division of the Total S.A. Group legal department. In this role Mr. Marsh manages the legal activities performed by 170 in-house legal counsel in over 100 countries. He serves on the Group Legal Committee consisting of 10 General Counsel supervising the global team of 550 lawyers in the Total Group. Previously Mr. Marsh was International General Counsel from 2015 to 2017.
From 2002 to 2015, Mr. Marsh led the Mergers, Acquisitions and Finance Division of the Total S.A. Holding Group Legal Department.Mr. Marsh also served as Group US Counsel, supervising in particular relations with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Marsh also serves as President of the European Company Lawyers Association, as Vice President International Affairs and on the Board of Directors of the French In-house Counsel Association (Association Française des Juristes d’Entreprises – AFJE) as well as on the Management Committee of the French M&A Association (Association des Responsables de Fusions Acquisitions).
Mr. Marsh holds a Juris Doctor (Graduating cum laude and recipient of the Order of the Coif), and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (Economic Phases) and French from the University of Wisconsin ‐ Madison. Nominated by the French Prime Minister, Mr. Marsh participated in the 65thNational Session (2012-13) of the French Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale, a military training program focusing on geopolitical risks and strategies for high ranking military officers and private sector leaders.
